The Bolzano Film Festival Bozen, Euganea Film Festival and Pordenone Docs Fest, in collaboration with the film commissions and audiovisual funds of the Triveneto region, are organising the third edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp, a consultancy and support workshop for medium-length and feature-length documentaries produced in the north-east.
Nord/Est/Doc/Camp offers feedback, networking and step-by-step training across Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-South Tyrol and Veneto. As part of partner festivals, directors and producers are provided with the expertise of selected experts in an informal setting through a series of meetings and workshops. These programme elements aim to realise the maximum potential of the films in progress: from editing to post-production, from festivals to distribution, with the constant aim of consolidating the dramaturgy of the works and expanding their opportunities for distribution and exhibition.
The project is aimed at films in the editing phase, documentaries and hybrid forms (non-fiction) that are produced or co-produced in the regions of Trentino-South Tyrol, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia and whose estimated final running time exceeds 45 minutes. From the applications, the commission – comprising representatives from the partner festivals – will select the four participating projects.
The four projects selected for the 2026 edition, which will receive guidance and support from qualified mentors and industry professionals, are: Grand-Popo by Nuno Escudeiro (produced by Helios Sustainable Films, Bolzano), Mia sorella è un pirata by Jacopo Mutti (produced by Jump Cut, Trento), Quando è pronto, il fieno canta by Letizia Buoso (co-produced by Headline, Rovereto, and Okta Film, Trieste) and Sonic Silence by Alessandro Ambroggi and Ludovico Chincarini (produced by Orango, Verona).
In addition to the regions and provinces on which the lab focuses, the selection also includes international co-productions: the Portuguese company Bam Bam Cinema and the French company Solent Production for Grand-Popo, as well as the Swedish production company Sisyfos Film for Mia sorella è un pirata.
The 2026 edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp will take place in three stages: the first will be hosted by Cinemazero and Pordenone Docs Fest on 12 and 13 March, featuring screenings and discussions with the tutors of the rough cuts of the four documentaries; The second round forms part of the industry activities at the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen on 13 April, where the projects will be presented to an audience of professionals, followed by meetings between the teams and the invited guests. The final round will take place at the Euganea Film Festival on 28 and 29 August and will include a workshop on promotion, distribution, marketing, communication and festival strategy, as well as specific consultations for each individual project.
Nord/Est/Doc/Camp is supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission, the IDM Film Commission South Tyrol, the Trentino Film Commission and the Veneto Film Commission and collaborates with the Fondo Audiovisivo FVG.
