Focus Taiwan
AND MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP (90 Min.) | 17:30 | Capitol 2

Much like the stories of the 700,000 other migrant workers in Taiwan, Vietnamese NGUYEN Quoc Phi became an outlier in the ugly and complex migrant worker system. With his expertise in construction work, he was one of the leaders of a group of migrant labourers working in Hsinchu. He dreamed of saving enough money to start his own business back in his home country.

In presence of Tsai Tsung-Lung (director).

GREEN LINE (150 Min.) | 20:00 | Capitol 2

GREEN LINE uses miniature models of Beirut and figurines to reconstruct Fida’s turbulent upbringing during the Lebanese Civil War, which took place between 1975 and 1990. With the help of these models, Fida confronts the ex-militiamen who operated in West Beirut—the same militiamen who claimed to protect her but who in reality frightened her so much.
